Main House-The Inn

We Invite you and your guests to escape to Grace House, where turn-of-the-century history and modern conveniences come together to create an amazing setting for group getaways. One of the oldest estates in Mars Hill, the property includes a grand Main House along with two adjoining, newer homes, The Barn and The Cottage. Grace House comfortably accommodates large groups for gatherings, family reunions, and corporate or church retreats.

Located less than a mile from Mars Hill town center, the Grace House estate stretches over 14 acres of forest and rolling pasture. Your group will love the ample opportunities for adventure such as a group picnic area, horseshoe pits, and a walking trail to the property's ridgeline vista where benches around the oversized fire pit offer a view of distant mountain peaks.

The Main House, built in 1917 and once home to a family of 15 children*, embodies old-fashioned charm with classic covered porches, a front parlor sitting area, and eight gas-burning fireplaces. Gather together for home-cooked meals in the traditional dining room, featuring original beadboard walls and a grandfather clock that stands at least six feet tall. The sun room and fully-equipped kitchen are bright and cheery spaces with pastoral views from the back of the house.

You and your guests will find rest and relaxation in the Main House's five bedrooms, each outfitted with comfortable furnishings and a flat screen TV. The main floor master suite features two fireplaces and a private living room with a small bar area and mini-fridge, perfect for preparing morning coffee or an afternoon snack. A second master suite, located on the upper level, also has two fireplaces and offers access to a covered porch with great views of the property. If you enjoy a deep soak in a hot bath, you'll love the upper level guest room that features an attached bath with an antique clawfoot tub.

A stroll just up the hill from the Main House brings you to The Barn, a two-bedroom home where you'll discover the very definition of rustic modern decor. This recently renovated space features original curiosities such as sliding stall doors and a tin-roof ceiling, as well as stunning architectural details like the exposed wooden beams and massive stone hearth. A comfortable getaway for up to four members of your group, The Barn includes a spacious fully-equipped kitchen that's large enough to cook for a sizable group, a washer and dryer, and a master bedroom with a king bed and en-suite bathroom. Head outdoors for a good time around the grill. Views of the estate and cool mountain breezes are best enjoyed from a lounge chair on the covered patio!

The Cottage, which also sits adjacent to the Main House, provides additional space to spread out, ideal for guests who need a quiet spot or serving as an in-law suite during family gatherings. This two-bedroom home offers a cozy living area and a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator. The Cottage is handicap assisted with accessible attributes including a single-level floor plan, ramps on the front and back entrances, wide entrance doors, and grab bars in one of the baths. The vibrant back deck overlooks the Grace House courtyard, which is fenced-in and has a patio with an above-ground fire pit.

Whether it's an afternoon spent chatting on the covered front porch or a busy weekend of entertaining, you'll create your own timeless traditions at Grace House, the perfect place for reconnecting with friends and loved ones.
